HELP NEEDED

TRUCKERS WIFE
My husband just turned 67 and is still out there busting his hump,he's an owner/operator of 1 tuck,driving for 40 yrs. He's one the best men you'll ever meet!
3 1/2yrs ago I got sick and screwed our finances up. now the IRS is trying to take everything from us, we've been trying to work with them, but the last month he's only gotten 1 load a week and the woman from the IRS is really mean, Now she's attached our cks.so we don't even have money for fuel to run on!!!

- Stonecastle gave the best advice. Ask to speak to a supervisor, explain your situtation to them. Bankruptcy will only clear you of your medical debt,as off now. Tax debt, wheather local, state, or federal, is not bankruptable. You will still have to pay ANY & ALL tax debt. Unless you have a VERY high $$$$$$$ attorney. I have been in the finance business, I know the laws in regards bankruptcy. The medical bills, why were you not able to deduct them? How did they attach your checks? They can only do that if you get a payroll check. If you guys are owner operators, leased to a carrier. stop the direct deposit! They can put a "freeze" on your bank account & get ANYTHING that comes into it. Change it to a check. Cash the checks. DO NOT deposit it. Take it in cash. That will solve that problem. - Unfortunately, Dixie Darlin, I must disagree with you. No, there is no LAW stating you have to pay income tax. Instead there is an amendment to the constitution which allows it. The 16th amendment. Please check out this link for an explanation as to how the SUPREME court has ruled on this matter. Please, don't be taken in by the late night infomercials. - i know u probally do not wanna hear this i was going to say file for bankruptcy or get a attroney im dealing with the irs right now on claiming my step daughter and grandson since 2006 they are ruthless people they took my little 1500.00 return this year and i have given them all the papers they wanted but still have not gotten it resolved. i think this country has gone to the way of the ************* i will keep yall in my prayers but thats about all i can do i wish i could do more. But now on social security 743.00 a month doesnt go that far.

- FYI.......There is NO law on the books that says you have to pay income tax, they are taking you for a ride....ILLEGALLY! Tell them you want to see the law that says you HAVE to pay......there is none! You have to file but don't have to pay, look it up for yourself.....type "illegal income tax" in your search engine and see for yourself! I have talked to the IRS myself and asked them to show me the law that says you have to pay income tax, they never called again and I still have their number in my cell phone.

- the IRS is uncaring & unrelenting. Been there & its not fun. You do have the right to speak with anoither agent tho and you should demand to do this. Preferably a supervisor, and tell them the first lady was rude and not possible to work with. The next advice is to NOT hire one of those tax attorneys to get you a deal. I did that twice & basdically just got screwed outta $10k by attorneys. You can make a deal with the IRS by yourself. They will settle for less than whats owed. Depends on what assets you have & your ability to pay will determine the amount of settlement. Generally anywhere from 1% to 50% of original bill. Ask for a offer in compromise settlement. They will mail you a ton of papers to fill out. You will need to reveal all details about your financial life. Be aware any time you talk to them on phone they will ask you personal questions to get info from you.Of course you dont need to answer, but you do want to appear co operative also. Lying to them is a crime. Hiding assets is a crime. Failure to pay is not a crime if you have no money. Be careful not to cross the line. The first thing you want is to remove all penalties & interest from original debt. That will shrink it considerably. Then try to settle for some small percentage. If you can make a lump payment, you got a better chance at a smaller amount than if you have payments drag on for 10 years. Obviously they now try to collect money cause the governments broke after wasting trilions of your tax dollars. I suggest if you have a friend, relative or corporation to use as a bank account, then do it, but carefully. Leave no paper trail to any money transfer. Use cash as much as possible. They will not remove any leins until the debt is paid, but its more doable after its reduced. Personally, I gave up on this country and Im in the process of moving away from the USA. I love my country, but I hate & fear the government. They are self serving & do not represent the peoples interest. Life as you knew it is now forever gone in this country thanx to an out of control government.We fast approach a new nazi regime where they have ultimate control over all citizens. Good luck
